About AW Financial Management LLP
We provide impartial, professional independent financial planning advice to our clients.
Foundations of Advice
AW Financial Management is founded and managed upon Christian principles. We believe that the Bible has much to say about handling finances. The financial planning wisdom contained in the Bible provides a framework for advice to all-comers which has stood the test of time, for example:
Spend less than you earn – Proverbs 25:28 "Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control" - this is a simple financial planning principle but it is worth endorsing time and again. The start of good financial planning is to ensure that you do not overspend and that you are able to manage within the constrains of a budget. This baseline recommendation is offered to all clients regardless of their background.
Borrow cautiously and repay – Proverbs 22:7 "The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is a servant of the lender" - we firmly hold onto this truth and recommend that clients seek to repay debt as quickly as possible, even if that means doing without some new consumer item for a time. The benefits of using your own money to purchase in the future are immeasurable.
Plan ahead – Proverbs 21:20 "In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has" - sound financial planning is about preparing ahead of time. This covers very many areas of our lives.
Our Experience
The advisers at AW Financial Management have over 60 years of combined experience in the financial advice industry. In addition to our Financial Planning qualifications, which allow us to operate as Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs), we believe it is our experience and insight which set us apart.
We live and breathe the financial planning principles personally before we provide the same advice to our clients. We independently assess many different products and funds using research tools as well as our own experience to sort the wheat from the chaff.
Not Product-Based Selling
We are keen to ensure that we offer a truly impartial service which does not rely on the sale of a commission-bearing financial product, in fact taking commission on new products was finally banned by the regulator on 1st January 2013. We have operated a competitive, fee-based approach since the early 2000s and this has stood us in very good stead as the regulator has addressed concerns about commission-based sales. We offer an initial meeting at our own expense where we can assess what value we can add and agree the basis on which we are going to be paid for undertaking the work for you. Any fees we charge take account of the time taken to complete the work as well as any future risks involved. We have a clear and transparent tariff of charges which we will discuss with you in our initial meeting.
Many of our fees are actually paid to us by the product or platform provider that we use to manage your investment or pension plans, although only when it is more advantageous to you to do so. We will discuss with you the best way of paying our fees at the appropriate time.
In summary, we pride ourselves on providing quality advice tailored to you as an individual. We want to make your money work for you.
